Another shameless ripoff of Ray B's excellent concept.

Who is this person, and what car can he be associated with?

Art and cars. Painters, writers, musicians, actors, movie makers: in a nutshell, artists. Cars of special importance in their work, or in their life.

Is that Leonard Nimoy? He advertised the VW Beetle '('Das Auto') in the '60s

That's him!

I wasn't aware of his VW ads. Do you have one you can post?

Puzzle locked for you until this time Saturday.

Actually I got the date wrong: the Beetle ad is a modern retrospective featuring Max the Talking Beetle. This is a quote from USA Today:

"In the TV ads, Max speaks with a German accent and plays a talk-show host. He conducts offbeat interviews with an eclectic batch of celebrities, including supermodel Heidi Klum, Star Trek actor Leonard Nimoy, Napster founder Shawn Fanning and David Hasselhoff of Baywatch fame."

Mr Nimoy also advertised the 1991 Oldsmobile Silhouette, which is maybe what you were after originally:

Nicely done!

Yes, the Olds ad is what I was after, but your link is just as valid (and the ad is quite a bit better than his Oldsmobile commercials).
