You're right, it isn't! No relation to Citroën, either.

The two later guesses are closer than the first one, though.

My guess was purely a joke, hardly understandable outside of France.

I suppose so, but advertisers seldom use the same ads in different countries, and I wasn't sure if those had been shown elsewhere.

They show that Citroen ad here too.
Someone also made a 2CV version of it, but I'm not sure where to find it now!

Well, you've found more pictures of it than I was able to :D

I don't think this is officially a Mazda, but it could have been built by a supplier as a PR exercise. It's called both the GReddy-6 and the RE-Amemiya. You have earned your point!

Yeah sorry, my previous post was meant to show that it wasn't a Mazda. From the research I had to do for this one I think that the car contains a 3 rotor wankel engine fettled by RE-Amemiya, which is where their involvement comes in, but the car itself is from GReddy, and slots in their line of specials, although this one seems a bit more special than most.

Also, pictures don't seem to be a problem whatsoever, there's tonnes out there, information is the stuff that's lacking. (As far as I've seen that is, some could be hidden in Japanese somewhere but I can't QUITE read the stuff. ;D)

Yeah, you're probably right about the engine/body, so the proper name for this seems to be the GReddy-6.

it was the rotary engine I was pointing to as the unusual feature. But just to be anal, the AZ-1 was always badged Autozam (unless it was a Suzuki Cara. Or a Mazdaspeed. Or an M2) but never Mazda!
