It's not a Vantage, but a "regular" V8 Shooting Brake - "regular", because only one Vantage Shooting Brake was ever built, compared to the vast number of three V8s. In addition, Aston built a V8 Volante Shooting Brake - called Volante because that's what it was before the conversion. After the conversion it had a fixed roof.

I think we can call this solved anyway. You have your point - the first one! Congratulations!

yay :)

I did this one out of my head, but you're right about the name. It's actually called V8, because it's based on the V8; not the V8 Vantage. These were 2 different models during the last half of the nineties.
Where did you get that number of 3 cars made? Do you've got proof of that (photo's)? Do you've got more info about the Volante SB?

I'll recommend a book (I'm giving it up as a source as most of the cars featured there are too obvious to make good puzzles anyway):

"Aston Martin: Power, Beauty and Soul" by David Dowsey. Just about the most amazing car book I've ever seen, with lots of pics on well-known, and not-so-well-known Astons. Highly recommended. One of my very favourites.

Details of a special series like the modern day DB4 Zagato might not be an obvious guess for most people ;) Or am I underestimating this forum now :P probably... :D

No, it's just that most Aston Martins have such distinctive design features that they'd be instantly recognised.
