Time for a clue: This car is made in the East - and was based on another small car, also made in the East, but in another country.

As I said: The car it was based on is not Indian, and therefore not a Maruti.

You're right about that. However, this is a one-off that carries a name that is different than the name of the car on which it is based. Neither of the names are Maruti.

I'll be nice and award a point each to Quiller and our new (and very efficient) member, jotage21. But just notice, new guy, that in most of these puzzles the make and model designation of the car is needed - which means that a partial identification could just lead to other members doing the solving  ;) - just a tip!
