Now you're embarrassing me. I must, as my face turns red, admit that I don't know what the Playtex GT looks like. But this car has an altogether different name, so I'll say no, it's not a Playtex GT. Whatever that is...

Yeah, that would be the conclusion if you google it.

This is one of the images that showed up (although I can't quite make the connection):

The "sculpting" of the side of the car - how the wheels seem to be lifted and separated by those cross-your-heart creases - reminded me of a "sporty bit of lady's underpinnings"

Will you guys grow up?

I'm obviously better at cars than I am at ladies' underwear.

But to keep up with your joke, I'll tell you that it's not a Triumph either...  ;D

Hi, this car was shown at the 68° Salon of Turin in 2000 and it was called the X-Mall.

Actually, I was a bit too quick on that. The Xmall is another car, a blue one exhibited at the same show. The car in this puzzle has another name.

I'll give you a clue to the designer: He comes from a country often thought of as the origin of car design (but not engineering). His recent work, like this car, and indeed the Xmall, show his fascination for designs that look almost identical from the front and from the rear.

La société italienne Model Master présentait deux prototypes aux formes très arrondies, l'un plus apte à la ville appelé Xmall, l'autre aux lignes plus sportives nommé Xsport.....moreless..The Italian Model Master presented 2 prototypes with rounded formes the X-Mall and the X-Sport, so that makes this one the Model Master X-Sport!

"This was a view endorsed by Sebastiano Palmisano, Managing Director of Model Master. His company used Cibatool BM 5185 to produce two innovative concepts cars — the Xport and Xmall. Both were hailed as examples of Italian automotive styling in its purest form. The basic shape of the cars was built around an X-frame integrated into the roof structure, with rotating quarters and a retractable rear windshield, designed according to the ‘form follows function’ philosophy. After virtual simulations of the car were created, a full scale model was required for testing and this was built using Cibatool. “We used Vantico’s Cibatool board because of the excellent finished surface quality, product reliability and easy machining,” said Palmisano. “This enabled us to make several refinements to model with very little wastage of materials or time.”."

This is the Fumia Xport alright! And this is Enrico Fumias latest creation, on a Lancia chassis:

Since Paul first came up with the Xmall, which admittedly is pretty close, and Grob then came up with the actual name just a couple of minutes before him, I'll award our two Masters a point each. Quite fair, don't you think?
