This was included in a previous multi-part puzzle, though it will take some digging to find it...

No worries - it will be difficult to find, unless one already knows the name.  :D

Funny that a Crossley website should be so wrong.
The car in this thread is a Crossley. They acquired the rights of Burney's Streamline design in 1934 using their own engine in place of Burney's twin-cam straight-eight Beverley-Barnes engine. Crossley-Burneys were built entirely by Crossley, so to say "Crossley-bodied" is crass.
We've had the Burney before  I think.

I'm not as well informed as Allan L, but I do have it as a Crossley on a trustworthy (period it seems) document. So the point goes to him.

Thanks for that.
It's having the right books that does it, you know.
Also it's British which helps those of us who also are!

Ok, I've been misunderstood...I meant that is a Crossley streamliner built according to Mr.Burney's studies...it's quite different from the Burney streamliner but that is where it comes from and by Crossley body I meant that Crossley built that...no problem for the point, I'm glad I found the car...

O.K., it broke my heart not to give you the point, but the way your answer was written was decidedly wrong.

Don't worry, It's my fault...I try to answer as soon as I get the car and somethimes I left something important...by adding available with Crossley body I just copied what was in that site that is not wrong, 'cause that is a Burney car sold by Crossley :
"In the 1930's Crossley joined in the enthusiasm for streamlining designing a car using Burney patents and the Silver engine rear mounted. Although more conventional looking than Burney's own cars, it was still too "different" to sell.
The Streamline was manufactured in 1933. About 20 were made. Chassis numbers range from 17/101 to 17/129
All cars are thought to have been fitted with Crossley bodies."

I wrote "Burney Streamliner rear-engine car ...Available with Crossley body" and the link...
Somethimes, considering that my english may be not too good, I add a link to complete my answer and in that link there was the same pic and the reference to the car as a Crossley-Burney streamline, and that "available with..." was ironic!
