Time for another group puzzle! This time, the thing these cars have in common is the fact that they to a certain extent all aspire to off-road driving. 10 different off-roaders or soft-roaders that want to be identified, none of them older than 30 years.

So, what do you say? Do you recognise these?

Three correct answers, and one that should be just a bit more specific. Who made the Bora?

So - this is the result so far:

1 - 1980 UMM Alter I Cournil Entrepreneur - Quiller
2 - 1980s Jago Samuri - Quiller
3 - 1983 Dutton Sierra - Quiller
4 - Bora, by whom? - (Quiller)
5 - ?
6 - 2000 Coggiola T-Rex - Paul Jaray
7 - 2007 MEV 4x4 - Paul Jaray
8 - ?

The Bora was based on the Lada Niva (dating from the early 1990s) but I'm not sure if it was Lada itself that created it

About the Bora: always based on the "Niva": the  "Bora", with an essential coachwork realized in aluminium, without doors.
Where ever I look...lada indeed seems to be the builder.

It was indeed Lada who built it, it was considered as one version of a replacement for the Niva as early as 1988.

Hm. The company seem to be a bit confused as to what to call this one - it is called the Racing Tender in a brochure I got at the Geneva show. I think maybe they've changed its name to Tender later as the car is a bit different from the RR road cars - they are planning a roadgoing pickup version of the racing car, which will bear the same name. But the car in this picture is obviously the same as the ones in the pictures on the website. Which means:

1 - 1980 UMM Alter I Cournil Entrepreneur - Quiller
2 - 1980s Jago Samuri - Quiller
3 - 1983 Dutton Sierra - Quiller
4 - 1988 Lada Bora - Quiller
5 - 1997 Michalak Cheep-R - Quiller
6 - 2000 Coggiola T-Rex - Paul Jaray
7 - 2007 MEV 4x4 - Paul Jaray
8 - 2007 Rhino Blizzard SWB - JR
9 - 2004 Fornasari Racing Tender - Paul Jaray
10 - ?

Yes, it is! Since jotage21 has had two weeks to come up with the model designation without saying a word, the point goes to Quiller...

That leaves #8 and #10, one of which is quite clearly a Hummer rip-off, and the other is a modification of a rather common mass-produced off-roader.

Number 8 looks like a Rhino Buggies Blizzard from Australia.

And why might that be? Because it IS a Rhino Blizzard. The version with short wheel base, to be specific. Bravo!

So, only number 10 left - which I would have thought you would get first of all. Goes to show that what one person considers to be dead simple, others have never heard of...

The only one remaining here is #10.

I've said that it is a modified mass-produced off-roader. To that I'll add another clue: This mass-produced off-roader comes from a manufacturer not traditionally associated with building off-road vehicles.

I've promoted this so that our Professionals will still be able to guess.

Let's finish this off, people!

The manufacturer not traditionally associated with building off-road vehicles is traditionally more associated with building transport for the common man...

Hey @re! Is #10 worth two points now?  ;D

Ok ok.. I will answer this easy one (that I found in autopuzzles accidentaly):

#10 is German PAROTECH P24, that was presented at Geneva ehm... 2008 !!!  :lmao:

The official website http://www.parotech.com/ is still under construction  :(

Yeah, I think you've deserved two points for that - although I expected that one to be one of the first to go!

Congratulations on solving it! I took the picture myself, and if I may say so, the 'facelift' does little to improve the design of an already ugly car...

So, this is done, then - and the results are as follows:

1 - 1980 UMM Alter I Cournil Entrepreneur - Quiller
2 - 1980s Jago Samuri - Quiller
3 - 1983 Dutton Sierra - Quiller
4 - 1988 Lada Bora - Quiller
5 - 1997 Michalak Cheep-R - Quiller
6 - 2000 Coggiola T-Rex - Paul Jaray
7 - 2007 MEV 4x4 - Paul Jaray
8 - 2007 Rhino Blizzard SWB - JR
9 - 2004 Fornasari Racing Tender - Paul Jaray
10 - 2008 Parotech P24 - Arunas

Which means: Quiller 5 points, Paul Jaray 3 points, Arunas 2 points and JR 1 point.

And with that, this one heads over to where old puzzles go to die ;)
