When it comes to automotive esoterica this is the best site on the net. You should find plenty here to keep you busy. Please feel free to post your own puzzles also.

Maybe you will even use the other parts of the forum.

If I may ask a few questions regarding the posting of own puzzles:

I don't fully understand the whole points thing, if I post a puzzle and someone correctly guesses the answer, do I award them points? If so, how many?
Are any cars allowed - including race and concept model cars? (i.e. a real manufacturer's scale model, not necessarily running)
Also what happens to reposts?

Well, yes. When you post the puzzle you announce how many points it is worth. However until you reach expert level, the Experts, Pros, Feature Writers or Admins need to give the points to the person answering the puzzle for you, as Rookies cannot award points.

Yes

Also what happens to reposts?

They happen sometimes but it isn't a problem. They just tend to get solved faster.

Just to get absolutely clear (almost there, honest!

), what's a good guideline for a correct answer? I could say the answer's worth 100 points, but that seems unlikely to be a good idea..
Also, do I need to contact someone to transfer the points or should I simply confirm the correct answer in the thread and then let whoever has the power do the rest of the work?

I think that's about all, thanks again for the help.

Usually you guess a car you get one point. If you confirm the correct answer in the thread and ask for help with the scoring and moving within the thread things have a way of getting taken care of. If it doesn't get done after a day or so, PM myself or one of the other admins and we will take care of it for you.

As I already pointed out to Quiller, this car is so similar to the Minotaur, produced in Britain, that it can not be a coincidence. But he says it isn't a Minotaur, and that it's built in an altogether different country (Italy, if I'm not mistaken). However, I'm stuck...

Well I've done some research and while this car could be described as a Pilgrim Minotaur - so @are gets a point - it is actually a different car. Can anyone tell me what?

The more I delve into this, the deeper the rabbit hole gets!

This picture was originally listed as the Covini C39 but it's now referred to by SimbolDesign as the Lavazza C8 (hence you have a point, neilshouse). The man behind SimbolDesign is Enrico Lavazza, the same man who designed the Covini C6W. According to him, the original design was by John Forakis in the UK and was launched in the UK as the Minotaur, now made by Pilgrim. Even more confusingly, this design then had a "restyling by Enrico Lavazza" and a "new tubular chassis by Simbol Design"

So it would appear that this car has at least three names!

Yep, I knew that Forakis was the designer. It is a bit strange, though, that it isn't mentioned at all on the Covini web page - they seem to have listed most of the other prototypes they've made over the years. What was your source for that name?

As for the source of the pic, it used to be on www.coviniengineering.com but isn't now (see attached pic)
