Alexander Scott checks his bank account balance...

Alexander Scott - one of two principal character in the TV Series "I Spy". Scott was played by Bill Cosby.

One of Bill Cosby's nicknames was "Cos", which was also the name of an hour-long variety show featuring puppets, sketches, and musical numbers, hosted by Cosby, but was canceled within the year.

Why would he check his bank account balance? Why, to help discern his worth, of course.

I keep looking at it, and the same name keeps coming back: White-Out.

Somewhere I saw a product-mobile for White-Out, and it had a shape like that green part on it.

Sometimes I think the clues are more difficult than the puzzles!

After the very telling clues early on didn't help, what was I to do?

Well, these clues required no limb damage:

Quote
Built by a well-known constructor of competition components and cars, this example was constructed and finished to promote the products of another automotive supplier.

Quote
This car's eye-catching appearance is a clue to the supplier it was intended to promote, versus the builder / supplier of the "go" parts.

Nope, not electric. The presenter was a supplier of something that is visible in the picture.

The visible clue is on the car.

Yes, of course. Those (obviously...) I understood. The limb-amputating clue was that specific one about Cosworth...  :shiner:
