I recognize a Studebaker Lark grille, so I would assume its Stud-based. No idea what it is, though.

As far as I know, that is the only Studebaker part (real or replica) on the whole car.

That looks like a Studebaker engine to me, and the hood and grille are from a Hawk.  Other than that, i have no idea.

Jim Tiller ran a Chrysler on three carbs in his Allard J2, so it can be done!
No idea if it's a Chrysler engine  we're looking at, though.

And not only on an Allard. Triple carburation became quite common in many american makes in the late 50's and 60's, for their "sportiest" models (who could be sedate looking family sedans, yet). It would be called J-2 by Oldsmobile, Tri-Power by Pontiac...

But I am not as good as Allan to recognize an engine by the color of the valve covers, the looks of the exhaust pipe, or the placement of the distributor. Neither can I say what kind of carbs these are.

I'm not that good at that sort of thing!
Colour of valve covers is rarely a recognition aid!. I'm not up in US-V8s, but I don't think it's the Buick (that became a Rover) which has the distributor at the front.
I don't think it's the Chrysler Hemi as IITC it has the sparking plugs between the valves with tubes through the rocker covers (like the English Daimler 2½ and 4½ V8s).
It looks as if it only has three-branch exhaust manifolds with a siamesed port for the middle cylinders.
No idea what the carbs are, but they don't look that big.

Thanks Allan. I supposed it wasn't a Buick too because they originally had vertical valve covers, and of course not a hemi. I am too lazy to search for other makes, but I see that those chrome valve covers, triple two-barrel carbs look like they're from a J-2 Olds engine.

Right or wrong, Mr. Puzzell ?

The hood appears to come from a Stubebaker Hawk, but that doesn't help me much either.

When this car was used in competition (back in the day) it was used in hill-climb evnts.

And that trio of carbs is from Stromberg.
