Looks like General Motors styling, and perhaps an air cooled engine in the front.  I'll guess wildly that it could have been the third Corvair, moving to FWD.

Indeed. This was a styling mock-up, built in 1975 One of many by Ford as they began early planning for the Fox platform, which would eventually underpin the Ford Fairmont, Mustang II replacement, and scads of other Ford and Mercury models.
