I know what this is (and it isn't what it appears to be), but I think for the moment I will leave it alone and see if anyone outside Australia can get it.

Seeing as how there has been no reply to this one yet, I'll put it out of its misery.

It's a Rover 416i (one of the Rovers that was based on a Honda design - note the similarity to the Honda Integra).  And, as you give your location as Sydney, I would hazard a guess, given the sandstone wall in the background, that it was photographed outside the Paddington Army Barracks.
