Another one of my favorites. While it IS a CGI rendering in the photo below, it was built and looks identical in real life.
-
Have at it, pros
-
wow... no one?
you guys need to play more VIDEO GAMES.
I still say it is a REAL car. A similar prototype car was built by a famous racing team recently that basically made this car extremely desirable by people that wanted a drivable version of that prototype
-
Some variant on the McRae R4 maybe?
-
I know the car. The problem is, I won't be back home until January and so I don't have access to my library. I know it's in there. But I can't remember what it is.
-
Nope, on the R4
-
Not an early version of this, hopefully...

no, but that's cool
-
wow, have I stumped the whole crew?
-
Is it from France?
-
I may be wrong, but I think it's British. I think I remember it being featured (with this picture) in an earlier edition of 'evo' magazine, but the problem is, my early editions are stored at my parents' place, which is quite far from where I live... so I've momentarily given up on this one :-\
-
It is British made. The drivetrain is not.
-
Prodrive?
-
nope
-
Went through a whole bunch of old evo magazines, but didn't find it.
It isn't an Ascari, is it?
-
nope. should I post some more clues?
The motor in this car is also used in the Prodrive car you guys think this is.
The third post should also be a big clue
-
Well, what do you know. This is a rendering for the Delfino Feroce, as shown in the company's official web page.
But I'd say that you're being a bit optimistic saying that it looks identical in real life...

-
what on earth is that? Must be a really early roadster prototype
The Impreza STI powered coupes look just like the rendering at the top of the page.
however, good luck finding a photo of one... I saw ONE (still considered prototype) in person and didn't have a camera on me. The coupe didn't have the Impreza like fog lamps and the front end looked completely different.
-
This is the original Delfino Feroce from 2000, with the Impreza engine:

It is currently being re-branded as the Murtaya by Adrenaline Motorsports:

If you say you've seen a coupe version in real life, I won't doubt that, but if it hadn't been for that, I would certainly have believed that the elusive coupe car is nothing other than computer renderings. It is quite strange that not even the company's official website (www.delfino.co.uk (http://www.delfino.co.uk)) has one real picture of it, just renderings...
-
also, the car I saw in person was for the launch party of Project Gotham Racing 2 (which it is a hidden car)
the car at the show was a running prototype and is how the car is portrayed in the videogame and how the car was designed to be for consumption by the public
some game photos

Yeah, I knew it was in the video game - but as you can see, it wasn't very similar to the Feroce I was familiar with :)
I still know I've seen that rendering, though - but it was probably at the Delfino website, where it's featured.
-
I just took a look at the PGR2 launch date, so the car I saw was from 2003
None of the staff on hand knew anything about the car aside from it's name and that it was turbocharged (it was a microsoft launch party)
Cameras were not allowed at the event, so I didn't bring my camera.
It was definitely a prototype of some sort as the panel fit was subpar and the windows seemed like Lexan

Another pic (and how did a Rookie - Chapel - what happened to him - get to post a puzzle?!):
-
The rules were different I think when I started here.

Amazing - the day I ask the question 'what happened to Chapel' and up pops Chapel!
Welcome back!

apparently I had email notification turned on

Ah - there's always a logical answer!
I hope we'll be hearing more from you.
