Getting closer!

The first image is a picture from the movie "Babe" (flickering moving images on a screen). Yes!
The second image shows a Corvette (a 1963 Stingray in my opinion). Yes!
The Corvette has the main role in the Series "Route 66" (flickering moving images on a screen). Yes!
John Cromwell plays in "Babe". Yes!
Jonn Cromwell also played the part of William Randolph Hearst in another movie (flickering moving images on a screen).
The Corvette has a Hurst shifter.

You're most of the way there...

John Cromwell plays in "Babe". Yes!

No.
It's James Cromwell.
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

No.
It's James Cromwell.
I know. I had his father's name in mind. The director.

As for the not-so-new-guy, I don't think Otto's question addresses to me, but I'd sure would like to know who he was before.
And as for the puzzle, I still can't find a connection between John Cromwell and Route 66. Too bas my Hurst connection wasn't the one, I liked the idea. Although I am not sure if the 63-64 Corvettes had Hurst shifters.
And I still haven't found no clue in that other topic, the fact that it's Glenn Corbett and not George Maharis notwithstanding.

And yet, I've found it:
Glenn Corbett and James Cromwell, 29 years later, played the same role in Star Trek: Zefram Cochrane.
For Corbett, it was in 1967 in a episode of the televsion series.
For Cromwell it was in 1996 in the film: Star Trek-First Contact.

Now that was a Mock Puzzle that was worth a Mock Turtle.

Aw, shucks, you know I meant that it was MG. I only set records in the amount of time spent researching instead of working.
AP knows two masters: you, the historical master, and Paul Jaray, about to pass the 500 points limit.

Thank you Ray, but truth is that Otto posted more than 1000 quizzes, @re more than 500, and so on...I posted only less than 150! That's why I collect all these points. You can imagine how many times you posted a car that I was going to post and if I did, that point was lost. That is not my strategy, of course and I try to post when I can. The hard part is to find an obscure car for the others and You all are the real masters who can keep this place incredible day by day. I'm only using your work for my (endless) research on weird cars!

Nice of you, Joao, but it was easy with all those clues: if jim jarron hadn't noticed the first picture came from Babe and mentioned John  James Cromwell, and if Otto hadn't agreed on Cromwell and advised us to look up that "Route 66" topic... Now it was down to an actor and a TV series. With a bit of imdb one had to get some results.
