2 deSoto Fire*

I'd say so too, 1958 by the contrasting colour. I don't think it will be possible to tell them apart... Btw, the middle of the three lights should have had white glass ( http://www.turbinecar.com/brochures/58Desoto/cover.htm )

Sorry, it's all new to me and I hadn't noticed there were four pages... (That's also why I added my reply twice - I didn't find it after posting  ;D )

Wow. You must have thought it was a joke when I posted this in June:  :hah: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=4437.0

How is that possible??  :-[ :-[ :-[

The very same picture. Well, well - I give you #32: The ICML Rhino. The consoling fact here is that although I posted that other puzzle, nobody else discovered this, either...

Well,

This puzzle was already 4 months old when you posted that, so I think it had slipped off of many people's radar screens.

Calling all Puzzlers!

Only 3 to go and this one is done. Gimme a hand. I'm no specialist of those left (7, 12 and 16)
Now, #16 is not a Lotus Europe MK1, not a Ginetta, not a Fiat 850 Spyder and not, I would say, an Austin Healey Frogeye. There are not so many cars with that kind of headlights...

You've just provided a significant clue, though I suspect it was unintentional.

Thanks. I'll try and see if I get what you mean, then start searching.
About #7: can we ask for precisions, as in normal puzzles? American?

As everyone can see, some puzzlers are reaching a certain state of madness when we get close to the solution of these group puzzles.

Very close! Not sold in the US, and not badged as a Chevelle or Chevrolet.

Then it's a 1964 or 1965 canadian Beaumont. I sometimes see them as Acadian Beaumont, sometimes Pontiac Beaumont...

#4 has been identified by neilshouse as a Jaguar XK 120, to your agreement.
Hard to keep track of all posts I believe.

Thank you for catching that - fixed now.  :)

Going forward, I'm going to use the picture captions to list the correct answers. It's worked better than updating a list of answers 2, 3, or more pages away from the pictures.

Still trying to kill them group puzzles dead. Maybe if I share my conclusions with others, some bright guy will be enlightened. Here are the news from the front:
- #12: half the british sportscars of the period had the same front lights arrangment. And about a third of the the italians (since apparently, except Offenhauser at 95%, only Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa made engines for the Indy 500, this car should be italian).
- #16. I spoke too fast. It appears that literally dozens of cars had that same kind of headlights.

You are doing a great job at these, and I feel you deserve some help.

You are way off on this one. This car is not at all exotic; nor is it British or Italian. In fact, the car's very name signifies its national origin.

Edwards America? That wouldn't fit with what you say about the engine, an inline 6.

1958 Rambler American. Once you eliminate Edwards (whose parking lights didn't fit anyway), there's not much left.
I found the same exact car so I didn't bother checking the connection between the Rambler's six  and some Indy engines.

Thanks for putting me back on my tracks, but the comparison with the Jaguar had led me way off the trail.
