Allan L no. 55:1963 Lister Costin Le Mans Coupe
« on: August 24, 2008, 05:20:04 AM »
I know we have some high quality rookies at present so I don't expect this will last long.
Make, model, event for which it was built and original drivers please!

18 views and no guesses - perhaps I overestimate our rookies!

No you haven't!

1963 Lister Costin Le Mans Coupe, chassis BHL 136, 1 of 1 powered by Jaguar XK straight six.

I have more info, if necessary.  ;D

Quite right!
I also asked for the original drivers, which you should have no difficulty with I think!

Whoops, of course.

Was built for '63 Le Mans (retired), and raced again in '64 with little success.
Driven be Peter Sargent and Peter Lumsden.

Also an image from me when I saw it, suffering from slightly abnormal body position.  ;D

Please tell us WIHIH!
I'd guess it had rolled, but I would expect more damage . . .

Thankfully not, what I believe happened that was just prior to the start some minor tuning was done to the engine, but one of the latches broke. It was first held down by one or two strips of ductape, but due to the flex of the body around some of the corners it would have worked itself loose and popped up like that. It returned about 3 or 4 laps later with a lot of extra ductape holding it down.  :D
