3-up SOLVED by @re, Arunas, @re, Allemano, @re and @re
« on: August 30, 2008, 02:56:47 AM »
Here's a proper scale puzzle. 30 cars, they all have one thing in common - the cars can encompass 3 people.
Yes there's a few which don't actually show the interior, but I have it on good authority that they do indeed contain 3 seats. Seeing the exterior should only make it easier to guess.
*EDIT* IF someone can provide interior images of the cars showing only exterior, another extra point is up for grabs. *EDIT*
I expect some of these will go in a couple seconds, but hopefully this will overall be a fairly long lasting quiz.

Well... Errr... Yes.  :o

Instead of marking all that @re got correct, I've marked the ones that he hasn't...

EDIT: Of which I'm glad, that there's actually a select few that he HASN'T managed to get.

Hey, DHoffmann, how do you manage to put more than 12 images in a post , and write captions under it? I thought that only administrators could do that...

I upload all the images to my photobucket account and link from there.

And noone should bother looking in that account, it's passworded and I don't keep the original files on there.  ;D

;D

An hour's worth of googling and intense brain searching got most of them done... but of the ones I haven't solved, there are a few that I feel I really should get. #6 and #27 do not ring any bells, but the others are right up my alley, age-wise and car type-wise.

I was also amused to realise which three-seaters you did not put in there. I was convinced that there had to be a McLaren F1 in there somewhere, but unless #28 is some stripped-out racing version with a different steering wheel, I can't find one. Also, I missed the Citroën Karin and the Bizzarrini Manta. But there are some real nice ones in there!

I was afraid these would be up your alley, just not quite to this extent...

Also I thought of and found 30 cars and that was enough, took me about 2 hours to get this together, forgot the Manta but I didn't want to put the Karin in, it's just too damned distinctive.

I thought that it had to be there somewhere, but couldn't find that interior sketch anywhere. Well, well... I guess somebody else had to grab a point or two ;)

Found it there, as it was the only interior image of the car I could find bar none. The rest were all the see-through CAD models or exterior pics of the actual car....

You are correct Arunas, thankyou for breaking @re's streak!  ;D

Nearly burst out laughing when @re missed it, but got all those other ones.

That leaves just #30!

Hint: It's been posted and consequently solved here.

I dismissed it too easily because it didn't look like any of the images I found of the F1's interior. The one you've posted is obviously an early one.

Well, just laugh, you guys... I'll get back at you another time  ;)
