I think its an Opel Rekord. I believe this photo was in Hemmings Sports and Exotic a few months ago. Incidentally, there should be an "intermediate" category. The "rookie" puzzles are a bit easy, but the "Pro" ones are impossible!!

I've sometimes though so, as well, but deciding on a classification is quite subjective. One mans enigmatic stumper is child's play to another. It's not unusual for a new member to join, and commence to identifying cars that had the rest of us stumped for what seemed like ages. The Barou Barchetta Jag is one such example. ;)

To be precise:
This is the 1957 Opel Olympia Rekord, the basic version was called just the Olympia.

FWIW, rchirnom, I couldn't have said it any better than Karn.
Welcome to the community. I hope you will stay around for a while.

Yes, I suppose you're right...one man's obscurity is another man's obviousness... Anyway, I have to admit I got some help from Google on that Jag Barchetta. As for the Japanese stuff, I've recently picked up a really cool book about the history of the Japanese auto industry (by Marco Ruiz, published in 1987 or so if anybody is interested)....

They all make it to expert eventually, unless solved.

I remember the first one I solved. It was the Szabadi Festival. Everyone else had only found it listed as Szabadi Microcar. I joined, did a quick Google search, and found the one article that gave the model name. ;D
