Chrysler?  It kinda looks like a prototype of the 2 passenger car Mopar was considering to compete with the Ford Escort EXP and the Mercury LN7 in the early '80's...I could be wrong, though...

I'll get back to you on this - but as far as I can remember there's no Chrysler connection.

Nope, no Chrysler connection as far as I am able to find out.

I can tell you, though, that as far as I know it was only ever offered as a convertible - although I know that at least one car has been retro-fitted with a solid roof.

Well at the first look I thougt, this might be a convertible prototype of the polish FSO Wars, but now I´m sure it isn´t

Maybe there´s a Brit hidden here?

As you say, it is not an FSO. And it is not British.

I'm astonished at what you can do with only limited web access. I'll leave this post here for now and get back to you with more information on the car when I get back home in a couple of days. But you're quite right - the name Jornada, however, is only the model designation, as far as I can understand. You'll get the point, and I'll fill you in later!

OK - here goes: This is a 1987 Jornada conversivel (convertible) made by a company called N.B.M. (Nasser Brasil Motores). This company did the chassis and the body, which is made of glass fiber. The engine is a 1500 cc Volkswagen.

I know that there is at least one example around that has been converted into a coupe with a fixed roof, but apart from that it appears these cars were only made as convertibles.

That's just about all I know about it... neat car, though  :)

Edit: And that one brings Mr. Jaray's total tally to 100 solved puzzles! Congratulations!
