Could be a different year of the same car, but there are some definite differences, primarily in the fenders.

Nope. I can't guarantee there isn't a connection, but the ad does not mention Berry, AFAIK.

That´s possible, bacuse those kit cars were sold and built under licence with another brand name, often.

But I´m quite sure this is the ca. 1970 original.

Probably a look-alike kit. According to the source, my pic is from 1976. I wouldn't think they would go backwards in their design (smooth rounded fenders to flat).

Upon further investigation, I don't think there is any relationship beyond coincidental. Someone may know better once it is revealed.

It seems that it was George Barris that first made a dune buggy with elements from a Ford Model T Roadster called T-Buggy. This was later copied by others, hence the look-a-like names as Berry T-Bug, Barrian T-Buggy and so on. There is a lot of these on the internet, but I have not yet found the puzzle car ...

I've matched the same picture to a reference to the Belgian Apal Auki, but shells like this could go under a number of names. The red car looks like a Dutch Ruska Classica as it appears to have back seats, the shorter version was called the Sprinter.

Hello,
Your talking of an Apal auki build in Blegny, near Liege, Belgium.
The other one is not an auki, it's an ruska made in the Nederlands, there is no question about it, someone copied the other one but no-one knows who!
Included my 1969 auki.
Regards.
Etienne
