Never knew there was a Scorpion  IMSA racer. For what it's worth, it's not an 037, nor is it a Monte Carlo. It's a US car, thus a Scorpion, that was totaled and rebuilt as an SCCA racer. It competed in the  1983 IMSA Camel GT Sears Point 3 Hours (GTO class) and may have competed in others.

You can see lots more info here: http://www.projectlancia.com

I love the Monte Carlo/Scorpion. They are beautiful little automobiles. Sadly, their performance, reliability, integrity, engineering and durability are about the same as a supermodel meth addict. I nearly bought one or two over the years but a friend with a six-iron and a proclivity to use it for cranial adjustment (it's good to have friends like this) taught me better.

I now regard the Scorpions as low-priced Mangustas - a beautiful scuplture for somebody else to own.
