Is that your guess? If so, no.

As my link said, the AMC AMX III in Rome.  I found a more specific pic this time.

I didn't follow the link...the first pic is a different car.

You are OH so close...the answer can be found in the link provided.

I thought you weren't allowed to answer rookie puzzles after you have answered 5...

My solved puzzle count is a remnant of my karma score.   However, I will be glad to forego answering this puzzle further as I feel my link was part of my answer and that I already solved it.

A car dealer in Lancaster Pennsylvania had one of these mounted on a pole outside the showroom, as a sign.  I always hoped it was just a copy.  It has been gone for 20 years now.

They named it after the builder.

Dragging another back from the dead...

Is that your guess? If so, no.

 AMC AMX III in Rome.

This is the correct answer. The car is from 1970 and is called the AMX/3. Nothing I can find suggests the car was built by Vignale. AMC hired Giotto Bizzarrini to build the car as he had previous experience with suspension and drivetrains in a mid-engined application (the Bizzarrni P538). The information I have found suggests the bodies were built at Bizzarrini's production facilities in Italy. Only 6 AMX/3 cars were built.

The AMX/1 prototype was built by Vignale in 1966 and is generally called the Vignale AMX.

AMX/2 was the car mounted on a pole outside a car dealership for many years. It was only a pushmobile.

AMX/1 (the steel-bodied Vignale running and driving prototype) and AMX/2 are both in the same collection in Alberta Canada. A collection I'm fortunate enough to work with...

Agreed - title changed.

There is a lot of conflicting information about these cars floating about. A very belated point for Ultra
