There was a Trailcharger I used to pass everyday on my way to work that was black. I have searched and searched, to no avail, trying to get info on it.
It's a Mexican Dodge Ramcharger...only a few were built, and only in 2WD, if you can believe it...it had something to do with the floorpan, as I recall. Dodge didn't think the truck would fly in the U.S. market, so they went the cheapest route possible to build the truck, and the 2-wheel version was cheaper to modify. The intended market was building contractors and the like. The trucks were built in the late '90's.
I'v never heard of the truck being referred to as a Trailcharger, and I couldn't find anything under that name, either...I'm getting most of my info from an article I read in Autoweek several years ago. There is some additional info at http//www.allpar.com/world/mexico.htm

It never really made sense to me why Chrysler didn't build this truck for the Americn market in 4WD...it seems that the original Ramcharger had a rabid following, if rather small...there should have been a bigger market for it, as it was light years ahead of the old Ramcharger, just as the Ram truck was ahead of it's predecessor, as well. But, then...Chrysler axed a full-size Adventurer SUV at the last minute, also based on the then-new Ram truck.
I wonder just how many of those late-'90's Ramchargers made it across the border...
