One of those Rambler-Renaults of the early '60's?

Why the Renault diamond on the grille?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

In the 1960's Rambler and AMC models were assembled in Renault's factory in Haren, Belgium and sold through Renault dealers in Algeria, Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The joint venture was called Rambler-Renault.

And weren't Renaults sold in the US as AMCs?

Did it really only last a day?!
The Alliance springs to mind: crap car as a Renault; perhaps even crapper as an AMC...

Dark for me, in that I was employed by them, ever-so-briefly.

As I recall, the car was initially well-received, but the luster quickly faded.

I laugh whenever I see an Alliance on Bring A Trailer or ebay, claiming "only 30K miles" or "only 50K miles".  A few years back when I attended a lot of abandoned vehicle auctions, Alliances showed up on a regular basis.  Most of them had "only 30K miles", and appeared to be in showroom condition.  But they were broken in some major mechanical way, and never drove off the lot.

"Only 50K miles" does seem to be the full life of an Alliance in America.
