Is that the Mexican Beetle? AKA Type 1?

That's taking Western Europe a bit far, don't you think?
I'd say the clue leads to Portugal.

If you go west enough you will end up in Japan!

It is known as  Bjalla in Iceland, but I don't know which continent Iceland technically belongs to...

My knowledge of Spanish cars obviously leaves a gap; There were the obvious ones (Hispano-Suiza, Pegaso, SEAT, Biscuter, But a search produced a surprising number of lesser names. And, after a search of an hour or so, I found this one: Orix - 1952. 'Powered by a 610cc flat-twin engine, the Orix looked very like the VW Beetle.' Could not find a picture or any more info, though.

I have gone to much trouble on this one, so I might as well list the cars I came across in the process: (I stopped searching when I found the Orix)

El Fenix -  1901 - 1904
Anglada - 1902 - 1908
Abadal - 1912 -1923
Hebe - 1920
David 1914 - 1922, 1951 - 1957 (The postwar cars were single cylinder three-wheelers)
Diaz y Grillo 1914 - 1922
Dobi - 1919
Eucort - 1946 - 1953 ('The Eucort was a Spanish automobile produced in Barcelona from 1946 until 1953. An attempt at creating a "popular car", it featured a 764 cc twin-cylinder engine. The last new model was the Victoria of 1950, which had a 1034 cc three-cylinder engine.')
Donosti - 1923 ('A 3-litre 16-valve sports car...')
Espana - 1917 - 1928, which then merged with Ricart (1922 - 1930)
Elizalde - 1914 - 1928
Hispano-Suiza - 1904 - 1938
America - 1917 - 1922 (?!)
Alvarez - 1921 - 1923
Hispano-Guadalajara - 1918 - 1923
Hisparco - 1924 - 1929
Izaro - 1922
JBR - 1923
Loryc - 1920 - 1925
Matas/SRC - 1917 - 1925
Ceyc - 1923 - 1931
Nacional Sitges - 1933 - 1937
Landa - 1922 -1935
AFA - 1943 - 1944 (My source says 'A 5cv cabriolet built in Barcelona')
Pegaso - 1951 - 1957
Kapi - 1950 - 1955 (a three-wheeler)
Nacional Pescara 1929 - 1932
Nacional RG - 1948 ('Streamlined twin-cylinder 740cc light cars')
Biscuter - 1953 - 1958
Clua - 1959 - 1960 (398cc twin cylinder)
SEAT - since 1949, but the first ones were badge engineered Fiats
Campeador - 1967 ('Resembled a scaled-down Ford GT40')
Mallorca - since 1975 (similar to Lotus 7)
Hispano Aleman - since 1979 (Also a '7' repica, as well as a BMW 328 lookalike)
