Puzzle #188 by Allan L - Solved! Ogle 1.5
« on: January 19, 2007, 06:40:07 PM »
As I said, simple enough for you to give make, model and anything else you can tell us
Sorry I forgot to resize it, so you'll have to scroll (makes it a little less easy if you can't see it all!)
(I've resized it when re-attaching the photo)

I see poorly executed Alfa B.A.T. influences.

It's a condition only slightly less worse than seeing dead people.

Of course it isn't.  I didn't think so.  Nope.  Didn't even cross my mind that it could be what I said it was.

That is a relief because it didn't cross mine either.

It is the bitish Ogle 1.5, just 7 of these cars was made from 1960 to 1962. It was based on Riley 1.5 components (ie Morris Minor), had a tubular frame designed by John Tojeiro and the four-seat coupé body was made of GRP.

FWIW, THAT never crossed my mind, Rich.  Still think it uses MGB front fenders, though.

Quite right except I believe 8 were built.
The second (colour) photo shows what would have been the next one which I bought as an incomplete car (and I didn't complete it either, in the interests of historical accuracy ;D).

Yes, Sea Lion identified that: we are now looking at the car that's almost hidden on the left of the colour picture

SLR it is, well done.
Actually I think it was an SLR-bodied TR3, but there was nothing in the photo to tell you that, even if my memory is right.

Damn, I knew about WSM but I had never heard of the Moggie SLR. Nice!
