Oh, yes - it looks like a 1904 Franklin Model A Runabout.

This pic comes from a newspaper article about a museum. Knowing how reporters make mistakes, I searched and found another pic of this car with the plaque in the shot and it indeed shows to be the make in the article (not a Franklin), though it is a different year than the article states. So then I searched for a link between this company and Franklin, but came up empty...

This company was only around for 4 years (from what I can find) so I would not be surprised to find they worked with someone else....

For this sort of thing Google is useless, as all the state names will have enormous numbers of references. No substitute for books, where Georgano tell me there were cars called California, Ohio, Virginia and Texas but  don't think any of those fit, and I can't remember all 50 names anyway ;)

None of those, either.

Only 45 to go...

Let's see....there's North Dakota, South Dakota, North Carolina, South Carolina...on & on & on...

I suppose you'll tell me that O.D. North (as in North-Lucas) and Art. P. Dakota were the makers. . .

I did a search for the name of this vehicle followed by "car" (i.e. New Hampshire car) and it came back with 30 million hits!

OK, I just found another pic  with a Franklin plaque next to the car...I am so confused...I give up...Here is the new pic

Point to Grob

Just a quick explanation of my confusion on this car....

I originally found this pic in an article on a Detroit newspaper website ID'd as 1903 Michigan. After a rather convincing pic from Grob, the next search showed a pic from a different angle with a plaque stating 1905 Michigan. Finally, i cam across the above pic ans threw in the towel!
