That door is so small (well, short, actually) that its a wonder it requires hinges at all. 

I am thinking it is a British somethingorother.

One thing's for sure. It would be an unsuitable candidate for the demolition derby!    :o

Well, the car is, but with outsourcing and all there's no telling where the hinges were made.  ;D

So much for the British somethingorother, huh?    ::)

The color and the "France" clue suggest a Bugatti.  Maybe..... ???

BTW and of no importance is my story about trying to replace the broken sun visor bracket on my XKE. Bear in mind, this was around 1972.  The dealer price was $125!    :o  The dealer informed me that it was made from three separate pieces which were brazed toghether than ground down, then polished, then plated. He made it seem as though there was one man back in Merrie Olde England who did nothing all year but fabricate left hand sun visor brackets at the rate of may two or three a week.

So I got one off of a Chevy Nova in a junk yard. Worked fine.    ::)

So there was a really cool baseball cap here that said "none of the above" on it, but apparently it's gone. That'll learn me to steal bandwidth. Anyways, it's not one of the above guesses.

It was a guess: I think it's a modern creation as I normally think of 'em looking like this.
It has a post-war grille, but the 135 Competition two-seater was pre-war and altogether better proportioned.
Note the original has no external door hinges (I think the ones we saw were Wilmot Breedon standard items off things like Bond three-wheelers, Daimler SP250 boot (trunk), and low volume fibreglass jobs)

The internet cannot decide if this car was from 1946 or 1949.  Many sites call it a Selborne Roadster.
