My first guess is that this was a late 60s-early 70s attempt at resurrecting an extinct US luxury brand.  Warm?

While it may have been meant to evoke a earlier luxury look, it was not branded as anything extinct, nor particularly luxurious.

According to my records this is a 1971 Ford Maverick Estate Coupe. Strange name, strange car.

You are correct in your ID of the car, and, in my opinion, your assesment of the car.

My source says 1970, but I suspect it was trotted out (pun intended) on the show circuit for a while.
