A pre-war offering - Solved! Mors 12/15hp.
« on: January 22, 2007, 03:56:42 PM »
Here's a pre-(Great) War car: make and model as usual, please
Second photo is identical make/model/year. Note subtle use of camera-shake to make the logos unreadable ;D

That first pic  sure looks like the street where Ozzie and Harriet lived. If so, and this car is American, I am going to go with Maxwell.

No idea why, though...... :D

Nice to think there are American street-scenes like that, but this one is not one of 'em, and no, it's not a Maxwell

Up until twenty seconds before I posted the answer, I didn't know that Mors existed as a manufacturer. In fact, I don't think anybody else does either. Even knowing who made it yields so little information as to what it actually is that I'm not certain that it even existed to begin with.

Thus, I will leave this as an exercise for the pleasure of the others.  ;D

Emil Mors made cars in the Rue du Theatre in Paris.
At about the time the one above was made his works manager was one André Citroën. Perhaps if M. Mors had treated M Citroën a bit better, he (AC) would not have set up on his own account and the Mors marque would be a leading contender in the World Rally Championship.
Or possibly not.

In my search, I did learn a bit about the Mors-Citroen link. The problem is that I just couldn't find pics of the Mors automobiles. Either there weren't many made, not many have survived, or they're owned by people too old to post their pictures on the web. Possibly all three.

Although, now that I know what to look for, a Mors is easily and instantly identified. So I've got that going for me.

I really haven't a clue which model it is, but I'll take a stab in the dark and say it's a 12/15hp.

Woohoo! Graduation day.

I never would have picked it though if porridgehead hadn't figured out it was a Mors.
