Studebaker Sceptre it is!

Since World War II, the South Bend, Indiana, auto manufacturer Studebaker had retained the services of New York designer Raymond Loewy for their styling needs. In 1961 the company's new management hired Stevens to compete directly with Loewy, resulting in a rivalry that persisted throughout the two men's careers. Stevens and his staff brought crisp, rigid lines to their work for the company, including the 1962 GT Hawk. He continued working for Studebaker as the manufacturer-despite Stevens' efforts-spiraled into bankruptcy. Several of his innovative prototypes never made it to the assembly line, including the Sceptre shown here. Designed in 1963 and projected for the 1966 model year, it was among the first cars to have a solid band of headlights in the front.
