is it a prototype of the Stratcarron .

Otto Puzzell

No. I think those have motorbike engines. This prototype has a Mini engine, and the design was conceived with another British 4-banger car engine in mind.

The car: Prototype of the Costin Sports Roadster from early 1990's. Long dormant project but recently revived, a production run still planned using Rover K-series (and the much prettier body of its second prototype)

The man: Mr Frank Costin. Legendary aerodyamicist for Vanwall and Lotus amongst others. Amongst his many other achievements he 'went against the grain' in using marine plywood for the chassis and bodywork of the first Marcos, and then other cars like the Costin Nathan, Protos and Amigo

By George, he's right! It's the Dustbin! I never would have guessed that.

Measures with mics, marks with chalk, cuts with axe, beats to fit and paints to match

Well done, sir!  ;D Excellent incorporation of the clues into your answer, as well.

full marks I was stumped , the car looks similar to the TMC Costin of the 80s , except the engine has been moved to the rear .
