Because You send me a PM, asking for info about this car. I took a look in a book of mine, saw the rear part of the car and remembered of this. That's why via PM I asked you before why you were interested in this one. If you told me that you recognize this puzzle, I wouldn't have post my answer.

Engineer Alberto Morelli started in 1953 a study for an aerodynamic car, on a mass-produced chassis, the Fiat 1100\103. The car, completed in 1956 and called M1000 was realized on a new chassis, with a rear engine. This car reached 133,140 km\h without changes in its Fiat engine. This prototype was too ahead for its time, but Pininfarina noticed Morelli's work and asked him to develop another prototype, the PF-X , with its odd wheel-disposition, showed in 1960.

And that's why first thought was PF-X!  ;) Thank You Paul!

P.S.. Is it true that Alberto Morelli also designed gliders?

And as I've asked You before, Morelli was a private designer, wasn't he?

He was an engineer, working on a concept, the aerodynamic car, and He built a couple of cars. I think this define Him as a private designer, yes.

Allemano, when you move a puzzle to "Solved" and rename it, could you keep your reference (like "129 of All - Solved: 1956 Morelli M-1000")? It makes it easier for us (or me at least) who have filed the picture under that name, to remember it's been solved.
Thanks.
