Move it away. It's too hideous.
It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Can be "Time Fly" part of the answer? It's written near the car....

It's the Fire Fly, homebuilt on New Zealand in 1974 - something as rare for the time as a hybrid car.

Google again! ;D

...the odd thing is that the same guy owes another car, and I was going to post THAT car in these days, and when I first saw this car, I though it was THAT!

missed this thread
the pic was taken at a show the trouble was that the car was all electric at the time and to get it to the show some 110 mile away was  difficult so i placed the electric motor on the front of the gearbox and put a vw motor on the rear.
then for the show i removed the petrol motor ( 4 bolts and a couple of plugs)and so from necessity i created perhaps the first hybrid

as the car only had a 4 ltre petrol tank  i had to often drive the last few miles to a petrol station on the electrics and would say as it quietly slid into the petrol station-- to the attenndant that i had run out of petrol some miles away and  had to use the starter motor to get here and showed him the giant electric motor and the 1500 lbs of bateries LOL

and if any one is considering making a car with VW rear and morris minor front --dont-- as the both jack up in a severe swerve and the results are spectacular.
thanks goodness for batteries at low centre of gravity
