Quiller

Well it looks Mini-based

Allemano

Not Mini based, I'm sorry!

Maybe a fresh view will drop the penny!

Right hand drive suggests a Commonwealth country. Unlikely to be the UK as the sun never shines long enough for anyone to risk going out with no doors or roof... Somewhere like Australia?

It's not denial, I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

Goethe said: "Warum in die Ferne schweifen, wenn das Gute liegt so nah?" Maybe you find a proper translation!

Fiat 126-based?

No, the land of production is within Quiller's post.

Douglas Adams may turn in his grave at this, but Babel Fish comes up with "Why into the distance curve, if is appropriate for property so near?" Out of that broth, may I presume that this is a British vehicle?

Could this be the REVE (Recreational Electric Vehilce), put together by an ex-Diva team of enginers, at the request of the Greek gentleman John Goulandris, the guy who later became associated with Enfield?

I'm sorry but I have to match it first with the infos I unfortunately have at home.  :-[

What I can tell you for sure is that you're very close if not hit the target. I lock this puzzle for you till the next weekend.
Of course you can verify your suspicion if you like! ;)

You're close but you haven't crossed the finish line...

Allemano

Come on! Let's execute this!

Paul Jaray

Was the yacht designer Ron Holland involved in this car?

Allemano

not that I'm aware of!

There are some infos in this comment which directly guides you to the solution of this puzzle, come on!

I know I'm almost there with this one, but sadly I think i will have to admit defeat on this one, as all of the information I have and know was contained in my original answer.

I know about the pre-Enfield 8000 electric car link, that Diva and Greek connections, and the fact that the REVE helped pave the way for the later Enfield Bikini, but I can't find out anything more on the REVE itself, apart from it being electric, and built on the Isle of Wight, England.  Shame!

Ever tried other sources than 'Google'??  ;)
I've found it in the biggest internet dictionary I can imagine..... And all infos I have can be found there!

ImpishGrin

Well, I don't know what was the name of the car given to it by its creators, but it's a moke-like version of the Enfield 8000, planned to be sold under the name Olympic Enfield.

Correct! It was usually only called the 'summer version' of the Enfield 8000.

Djetset

Believe me, I didn't use Google, as I find the good old fashioned printed word in books and magazines is usually a more reliable source of information.  Certainly in print this car was more commonly known as the REVE., and sometimes the Enfield Bikini as I'd already mentioned.  I've learned something now though, as I've never seen it refered to as either the Enfield Olympic or 'summer version'!
