No I can't prove it.  I have seen pictures of Petermax Müller's Pertrix cars (named for a sponsor).  They had all-enveloping bodies with had sweeping wings.  The central section looks very similar and I thought it might be one with the wings removed and cycle wings fitted to make it a 'intertyp' usable as a sports car or as an open whheeler with the wings removed.
I also owe Petermax Müller's memory an apology - the car was not an eigenbau as he built at least six cars.

Having got that out of the way, could this be Gottfried Vollmer's VW-based special

I'm trying to read the initials on the nose - it looks like an F and an A. Are these the initials of the constructor ?
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia
