Nice motometer! I'm assuming it's European, since there's a futbol in the background :D. And it looks vaguely familiar. Let me do some digging in the Stephen M archives...

Nothing in the archives. Not sure why it looks familiar. Is it a Zborowski-era Bugatti perhaps? Grill doesn't have the right shape, though...

This marque was founded in 1924, when an industrialist who made his fortune in WWI supplying the aircraft industry bought an existing car builder. This model was introduced soon thereafter. The industrialist's name and the car builder's name were hyphenated for 4 years; the brand then reverted to its previous name before folding altogether in the 1930's. The ex-aircraft factory where it was built was purchased by a much better-know marque that lasted well into the post-WWII era.

This model sold quite well, making this one of the top 5 brands in it's home country in the still-crowded pre-depression market.

I KNEW it looked familiar. It's a Donnet Zedel, just like the one we had at our scuba-themed wedding:

Here is the site at which I found the pics. It tells a little bit about the restoration, and it's use as a 'wedding car'.

Coinkydink?

I think not!  :)

Something tells me these are one and the same car.

Of course, my ususal dislaimer applies: I could be wrong.

Any way you look at it, it's a good get. Well done Stephen M.

Looks to be the same car - check the plates on the linked page, and on SM's pic.  :)

Tis indeed the same car.

The wedding pic I put up was simply the most interesting of many "action" photos on the site KU gave. The car is apparently for hire for special days.

I'm still wondering what the deal with the scuba fins is.

The full name should be 1924 Donnet-Zedel Type G.  ;)
