1948 Lancia Aprilia, body by Viotti, engine tuning by Paganelli, raced by Luciano Agosti.

Right make and name. Wrong year and coachbuild according to my source. Who tuned and raced this I dont know.

Maybe it was built in 1947, but I'm pretty sure about the coachbuilder, at least according to Andrea Curami's book "la Sport e i suoi artigiani" that, as far as I know, is the best reference for Italian etceterinis.

I have three sources who say it is earlier than 47/48. One of these sources is only about this coachbuilder and I would be suprised if it was mentioned in their anniversary special if it was not built under their name.

I double checked: I was wrong with the manufacturer name, which is actually Luigi Pagani (not Paganelli), and the time, which is late '30s.
Bu the coachbuilder is mentioned as Viotti indeed. The car is listed as an Aprilia made by Pagani with a special-construction cylinder-head with single ports for the Scuderia Ambrosiana.
If this is wrong, I can only guess, but the car looks really like other similar Viotti's famous constructions, like the Vittorio Mussolini's Siata 1100 or the 1938 Fiat 1500 Sport. If not, I give up and leave to other puzzlers which could have better sources.
I can only guess that under Viotti's brand he could have had as a body-in-white subsupplier Motto or Maggiora.

It is indeed late 30s,But the rest of your info is not wat I have. Maby al my resources are wrong about who built it.
I will award you a point for that it is a Lancia Aprilia, but not move it to solved yet. Who knows for sure??. According to my information this one is from the same year and builder as this one

The red one is a very famous Aprilia Zagato, but in my opinion the puzzle-one is not a Zagato bodywork: I don't see his style in this car.
On the other hand, I've also found a picture of another Aprilia Pagani, with a body by Mario Riva that's similar: the topic is still open...

Yes according to three sources I found it is a 1938 Lancia Aprilia 1350cc by Zagato.
Maby they all took over eachothers mistake, I am not sure.
You are right on it not being a obvious Zagatos bodywork.

Topic stays open. Who can proof who actualy built this?? .... earns a point.

All I know is that als15 has a source who mentioned Viotti as the builder and I found out it to be by Zagato.
We are both not a 100% sure who built it . But I have none refering to Pininfarina.

Still open and a point for the one who can proof who built it

Here is what I have so far. A picture and a quote from a website:

It appears that the "Aerodinamica" version of the Aprilia was built from 1936-8.
One last quote:
"Pininfarina built both saloons and cabriolets on this longer chassis for Lancia, as well as the 'Aerodinamica' two seat coupes. Other coachbuilders who produced Aprilia-based cars included Ghia, Stabilimenti, Farina, Zagato, Viotti, Bertone, Vignale, Touring, Castagnia and a variety of overseas companies."

Nice pics!! well done, but both of th cars are not the same as the one in the orignial post.
True that many coachbuilders had developed a race car based on the long chassis Lancia.
Now that seems to be exactly the problem in this puzzle.
I only have seen this particluar car being mentioned as a 1938 Lancia Aprilia 1350cc by Zagato.
and have still no proof it is not

I certainly looks Zagato to me. That was my first choice but I haven't found it yet.

2nd:
